Urban Reforestation's Docklands Community Garden is a great place for people to literally get their hands dirty and become green thumbs in the convivial community garden. It is a beautiful oasis of nature to catch up with friends and share stories over a barbeque, picnic or drink. There is so much potential to use this innovative urban space for community activities like: dinners, markets, events, garage sales and kids parties, so it truly becomes a community hub for the Docklands Community and is an "activated" green space. There are lemon and lime trees taking root, a communal barbeque, a rosemary grove, vegetable patches, plus barrels for herbs and other edibles. The garden makes great use of timbers and materials that have been salvaged from other areas during the Docklands development project. It has also used many of the original materials from the first Docklands Community Garden we designed with the community.
For more information, go to The Hub @ Docklands or visit the garden any time.
