Urban Reforestation's Urban Forest, Melbourne Opinion

Urban Reforestation Melbourne would like to know your implementation plan. Who will be engaging the community in 're-foresting' Melbourne?

Urban Reforestation Melbourne is an organisation which is equipped to assist the City of Melbourne to achieve their objectives (similar to Green Thumb in New York). Is there a way to partner with social business likes ours in your community to ensure it is not just going to be a 'top down' strategy in the implementation. There needs to be capacity building from the 'bottom up' for a strategy like "Urban Forest" to come to life.

Aquaponics gardening

Aquaponics gardening

A great way to grow your own food in your backyard is aquaponics gardening, as it combines aquaculture with raise garden beds, Aquaponics gardening uses the natural fertilizers produced by fish and is chemical free. Basically, the water from the fish tank is recycled by the plants, which remove all the excess nutrients, before returning to the fish tank underneath and being reused to water the plants again.

Maybe the most water efficient way to get fresh vegetables and fish straight from your backyard.

Transition Garden - Update

Transition Garden - Update

The Garden in the Docklands is being moved to a 'transitional site' at the end of Merchant Street. Please be advised in the next couple of weeks the garden is going to be in a 'moving state'! Please be patient until the garden is back together again within two weeks.

We have great news to announce, we are in the process of developing a new permanent site in collaboration with Vic Urban, City of Melbourne and Lend Lease. This is going to take place in the next 8 months. You are welcome to add your feedback and get involved in the garden.
