We had the privilege of giving a speech at Melbourne Sustainability Drinks this month. Thank you to the Sustainability Drinks Team and Shaper Group for giving us the opportunity to connect with everyone on Wednesday evening. Below is Emily, our director's speech about Urban Reforestation. Thank you to those who "co-designed" this speech with her!
Urban Reforestation's Docklands Community Garden is a great place for people to literally get their hands dirty and become green thumbs in the convivial community garden. It is a beautiful oasis of nature to catch up with friends and share stories over a barbeque, picnic or drink.
On Thursday 27th of September Urban Reforestation ran a Convivial Dinner. It was a great evening with beautiful company and music. Thank you to Kinfolk for their great food and atmosphere.
On Sunday 30th of September at 10.30am the Noble Park Community Garden will be opened by Mayor, Councillor Youhorn Chea, from the Greater Dandenong Council. Urban Reforestation has really enjoyed working with this strong and passionate community. So much so, Emily our director has written a poem about the amazing people who have been involved in the garden and made things happen on the ground.
On Sunday, September 9, the Herbert Street Northcote Community came together to Reclaim the Curb. The day was delightful, energetic and superb.
