It is wonderful to see "Urban Reforestation" happening in a very progressive way in New York City. This is a model to inspire other cities, like Melbourne! So, here is a run-down of what "Reforestation" means to New York City, headed up by Mayor Bloomberg as part of PlaNYC to make New York City greener and more sustainable by 2030.
On Sunday 30th of September at 10.30am the Noble Park Community Garden will be opened by Mayor, Councillor Youhorn Chea, from the Greater Dandenong Council. Urban Reforestation has really enjoyed working with this strong and passionate community. So much so, Emily our director has written a poem about the amazing people who have been involved in the garden and made things happen on the ground.
On Sunday, September 9, the Herbert Street Northcote Community came together to Reclaim the Curb. The day was delightful, energetic and superb.
Docklands Garden Brings Life and Soul to the Docks in Melbourne!
Melbourne’s love of bringing life to hidden spaces has sprouted in Docklands with the opening of its Community Garden in Geographe Street Docklands on Sunday 15 July, in a joint initiative from Urban Reforestation, Places Victoria and the City of Melbourne.
